Project Overview

Our team at Biz4Group has developed the podcast platform, which was established in 1950, called Unshackled. The ministry of Unshackled releases Bible-based audio/video drama, which covers hopeless scenarios faced by people, along with how they could overcome the situations meanwhile. The WordPress-based platform, developed by our team covers some unique options like Share Your Story, wherein the audience gets to share their part of inspirable life event. The On Demand option gives an option to choose among 3 categories of audio, i.e. Audio Drama, Daily Devotional, and In Person (real life stories from individuals).

Developing a WordPress-based Podcast Platform

Challenges

As a developer team, designing an engaging & intuitive user interface, for a diverse audience was a challenge.


Integrating and managing multimedia content such as audio episodes, videos, and images were one of the primary challenges too.

SOLUTIONS

Even though the team worked on an older version of WordPress, they managed to focus on a responsive design, accessibility standards, and intuitive navigation to focus on responsive design.

The team managed to use media management plugins, and services, thereby ensuring that media files are optimized accordingly, for web use.

Maintenance & Compatibility of the WordPress Website

Challenges

Ensuring compatibility with various browsers and devices was one of the imperative challenges.


Again, protecting the website from vulnerabilities, considering WordPress’s popularity is also important, and a challenge too at the same time.

SOLUTIONS

Unshackled has its mobile app too, hence by regularly testing the website on different browsers & devices, the team could keep the themes & plugins updated.

Therefore, in order to overcome the challenge, the team implemented security plugins, regular updates, frequent security audits, and strong passwords.
